Durham Cathedral

Durham Cathedral as the name suggests, is located in the city of Durham in Durham County. The cathedral is the icon of this lovely city which was built in the late 11th century. There are several trains that travels from Newcastle to Durham, I just can’ t remember which one brought me to Durham. By the Quayside (Newcastle Upon Tyne May 2007)

I landed in Newcastle at 11AM, had lunch, took a nap and at 4:00 pm went to the Quayside  to look around. As I came from Muscat having a temperature ranging from 40-45C, the 10C in Newcastle was freezing for me. Newcastle lies at the north side of the River Tyne  and Gateshead on the south side. The Quayside has a promenade where one can enjoy a leisure walk by the River Tyne enjoying the view and fresh air.
